Harvey Milk Candlelight Memorial March - 2010








On Saturday, November 27th - Harvey Milk LGBT  Democratic Club held a Candlelight March for Harvey Milk and George Moscone on the anniversary of their assassinations.

Speakers at the beginning of the march at Harvey Milk Plaza included State Senator Mark Leno, State Senator Leland Yee, City Attorney Dennis Herrera,  Supervisor David Campos, City Treasurer Jose Cisneros,  Cleve Jones, Carole Migden, John Bardis,  Carol Ruth Silver

Netroots California Sessions - San Francisco











San Francisco had the honor of hosting Netroots Nation on Saturday, November 6th at the African American Art & Culture Complex on Fulton Street in San Francisco.

Large crowd from all over the state gathered in over 18 different strategy sessions including:

  • The State of California in 2011 and Beyond
  • The Big (Progressive) Picture: The National Landscape Going into 2012
  • Learning the Right Lessons from 2010
  • New Online Tools for Progressives
  • How to Integrate Social Media into Campaign and Advocacy
  • Progressive Strategy Session: California's  Justice System
  • Progressive Strategy Session: The Environment and Environmental Justice
  • Progressive Strategy Session: The Economy
  • Progressive Strategy Session: Immigration
  • Progressive Strategy Session: LGBT  Equality
  • Progressive Strategy Session:  Budget and Political Reform
  • Progressive Strategy Session: Education
  • Progressive Strategy Session: Integrated Field Operations
It was impressive that such a large group got together so quickly after the election.  This shows that people know that we have to focus, learn and move on quickly  to our next battle.
