Susan Leal! - April Political Calendar
She's Back!
Celebration for Susan Leal and her 15 years of public service at Don Ramon's on 11th Street in San Francisco.
First of all, Susan looked great! The place was full - many city employees from the City Tresurer's Office and the PUC.
Pictures of Susan on a stick to make a mask were handed out to everyone.
There was great food and huge, huge margarita's.
Susan, first of all thanked all the city employee's for all their hard work. Speeches by Supervisor Bevan Dufty, City Treasurer Jose Cisneros, Supervisor Bevan Dufty, Supervisor Aaron Peskin who said when he first started as a supervisor he thought Susan was the 12th Supervisor and then he realized he was voting to increase the City Treasurer's budget every year!
Laura Spanjian spoke about Susan being a mentor and a friend.
Susan said she was proud of what she did including socially investing the City's money while still making money for the city- she would not have done anything different.
She thanked everyone for trusting her.
She said we had to get past the cynicism and take on public service. She asked us to Support Proposition A the Parcel Tax Proposition and Proposition E - electing the PUC Commission members (yes!).
But most importantly she was going to take a short break and then she would "be back".
What does she mean by that?
Susan's family was introduced including her partner, Susan Hirsch and her family. An excellent turnout out by the best of San Francisco - Assemblyman Mark Leno, Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, Supervisor Sean Elsbernd, Assemblyman to be - Tom Ammiano, Sheriff Mike Hennessey, former Supervisor Leslie Katz, Mary Hughes, Michael Goldstein, Pat Schultz, Matthew Rothschild, City Attorney Dennis Herrera, Alex Clemens, Jennifer Clary,, P. J. Johnston, Barbara Taylor, David Chiu, Ed Harrington, Roberta Acthenberg, David Philpel, Rebecca Prozan, Scott Wiener, Rafael Mandelman, Roma Guy, Fran Kipnis, Martha Knutzen, Steve Kawa and Susan Christian.
