Tuesday attended the Campaign Kickoff for Jim Meko for District 6 Supervisor which was held in Jim Meko's business at 366 Tenth Street.
Jim's loyal and well-respected supporters and friends spoke:
Gayle Rubin said he was the "guardian to the neighborhood". His issues of land use, zoning, his depth of knowledge, how he manages conflicts, how well informed he is".
Gerry Crowley talked about Jim being a friend, activist who will represent you.
Toby Levy talked about his leadership in SoMa Leadership Council. "He has an even voice, equal voice, rational voice".
Gayle Rubin talked about how he will be there for you, he is respected.
Jim Meko talked abut the issues of homelessness and smart growth. "People do good will".
His website says: "We're undergoing some of the most significant land use reform in the last 50 years. Quality of life issues, affronts to common decency and the abuse of social justice are all around us. The economic downturn has hurt everyone. We need someone who will represent this entire district and I believe that I am that person."
Meko is chair of the SoMa Leadership Council, he is on the San Francisco Entertainment Commission.
