Chris Daly - "What's Next for us"

I attended Chris Daly's "10 Years of District 6 Symposium" on Saturday held at the Herbst Theater.

Chris Daly is a community organizer. He uses the word "us". This meeting was held to show what "District 6 is". To review what District Six people had done and what should be done in the future.

Supervisor Daly gathered people who he had worked with over the last ten years on issues - Mission Anti-Displacement, Bessie Carmichael school, Trinity Plaza, South of Market, Housing Justice and the People's Budget.

Judith Baker - Bessie Carmichael - said "you are not afraid, you gave us a voice, you gave us faith".

Trinity activist said "this is not ten years - this is a lifetime". "You are our friend, or voice, our leader".

Chris Daly ended in saying "you are my base". "I will be out in those chairs with you".

I appreciated the excellent program, the remarks, the picture history and the idea of bringing the ideas, the people and the district together - not for the last time....
