Protect Tenants' Rights to Have a Roommate

What: In September tenants won important new protections. Now some landlords are trying to roll back those rights.
Landlords are asking the Rent Board to adopt a rule that will make the new protections apply only to future leases. This would wipe out protections for all existing tenants.
The Rent Board needs to hear why we need the protections for the right to have a roommate who are not an immediate family member.
