Friends of Tony KilroyFor many years even before Tony Kilroy's death in 2002, Tony would invite his friends around election day to get together and talk about the election and just be friends.
Even after his passing, people still meet in Tony's honor.
The four course meal was at Delancey Street. People honoring Tony included Tony's three sons - James, Bryant and Myles, they all spoke briefly and after all this time they were still emotional talking about their Dad.
People attending included his good friends Richard Grossboll and Esther Marks along with Tim Redmond from the Bay Guardian, Patrick Goggins from Marin, Jennifer Clary, Norm Rolfe, Anita Sanchez, Heidi Machen and Ruth Graffis and Jan Halloway.
Of course people were talking about the Migden/Leno/Nation election, Barack Obama's speech and the coming 2008 election for supervisors.
Everyone talked about Tony love of the Democratic Party. He was the founder of the Irish American Democratic Club and the Richmond District Democratic
Club and he had the famous "Kilroy's Directory of San Francisco's Politically Active Groups".
On Tony's obituary in the Chronicle the last sentence was "Think where mans glory most begins and ends, and say my glory was I had such friends" Yeats.
