Ralph & Matt Show - May 12th Calendar

Ralph Nader - Matt Gonzalez held a meeting last night at the Roxy Theatre. The meeting was introduced as the "Ralph and Matt" show.
I went to hear why they are running for President and Vice-President. The theatre was full - many people knew each other from the Matt Gonzalez campaign - it was sort of a reunion.
Cindy Sheehan spoke(she lives in the Mission) as well as Gayle McLaughlin - the Mayor of Richmond.
About Obama- Gonzales said" rhetoric was not enough". Ralph Nader is pushing for open debates (but first he has to get enough signatures in each state to run ).
The platform: total U.S. military and Corporate withdrawal from Iraq, Single Payer National Health Insurance, cut the bloated and wasteful military budget, living wage for all workers $10. Minimum, no to Nuclear energy, solar energy first, aggressive crackdown on corporate crime and rip-offs. You can't be against this? So why - a separate party?
Bottom line - Nader and Gonzalez are bringing their issues to the public and the media. They are right that these issues should be at the top of the agenda - I am still holding faith that Barack Obama and the American people have started a new movement and will deal with these issues quickly .
