ROTC Press Conference -
I was coming out of jury duty and I noticed activity out in front of City Hall - it was the ending of a press conference for supporting ROTC in the San Francisco school system. 13,000 signatures were handed in (double what is needed) to put ROTC on as a ballot argument in November.
Mayor Newsom was there speaking to the press. Alicia Wang (Candidate for Supervisor in District One) and Michael Bernick (hadn't seen him in years!) and Doug Chan were there to show their support for the ROTC.
What makes this interesting is that Eric Mar, candidate in District One and on the School Board voted against the ROTC ( this will be a big issue in the supervisor races in the coming months).
