As always, the day after the election SPUR holds a Post election recap of the election. A huge crowd attended - so big that the meeting was moved to the World Affairs Council on the second floor.
Political analyst David Latterman from Fall Line Analytics and Alex Clemens from Barbary Coast Consulting discussed the election. David Latterman had some easy to read graphs that tried to explain the results (mid-count). It was obvious that many races and propositions were too close to call. Questions were asked by the audience, mostly which could not really be answered because it was too soon to obtain the data.
Interesting comments made by different people:
- Looks liked District One and District 11 have moved left (people move where they can afford housing).
- 2% increase in Democratic registration. 50& vote by mail.
- Looks like the supervisor candidates who had the "best field campaigns " won.
- Chris Daly did well.
- Most important slate card was the San Francisco Democratic Party Slate Card .
- DCC election in June made the difference in this election.
- Housing is always the number one issue.
