San Francisco stood together today in support of Supervisor David Campos's legislation to stop deporting San Francisco youth without due process.
The proposed law would require that juvenile suspects be convicted of a felony before San Francisco officials contact federal immigration authorities - unless the suspect is charged as an adult.
Speakers included Supervisor David Campos, San Francisco School Board Member Sandra Fewer, Supervisor Eric Mar, Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, Supervisor John Avalos, Tim Paulson, Executive Director of the San Francisco Labor Council, Kate Kendell, Executive Director of National Center for Lesbian Rights, Supervisor Chris Daly, Kimberly Alvarenga on behalf of Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, Supervisor David Chiu, Debra Walker on behalf of the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee and Anthony Jones from the San Francisco Youth Commission spoke in support of this legislation.
