Thursday night attended community meeting about the "The Future of St Luke's Hospital" held at Precita Valley Community Center.
Moderator was Roma Guy with Supervisor David Campos and remarks by Supervisor Bevan Dufty. Supervisor Davis Campos called for a " world class hospital".
Public comment was overall in agreement that St. Luke's Hospital should be rebuilt as a community hospital with primary and secondary care. People from the neighborhood spoke , people that worked at St. Luke's spoke - there is a true ownership in St. Luke's Hospital going back many, many years. There was an agreement that CPMC needed to be watched so that the final plan is something workable for the neighborhood that will be sustainable over a long period of time.
Meeting was held with the Coalition for Health Planning - San Francisco. - to establish principles of health justice, participatory planning and equity as the basis for health care planning decisions by the City and County of San Francisco.

The Coalition is requesting:
Healthcare services including hospitals, clinics and other providers, should be equitably distributed through the city.
Equitable and just access to healthcare services should be achieved through balanced distribution of payer mix and revenue sources through the city
Hospital planning should prioritize healthcare services that meet indentifiable community health needs, complementing the public health infrastructure to support the health of the entire city.
