Board of Supervisors Meeting - Nov. 18th

I attended the Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday specifically to hear the motion regarding passthroughs regarding water and sewer costs to tenants - the motion failed 7 to 4.
Voting for the pass throughs: Michela Alioto-Pier, Carmen Chu, Bevan Dufty and Sean Elsbernd.
Voting against the pass throughs: Aaron Peskin, Tom Ammiano, Chris Daly, Sophie Maxwell, Jake McGoldrick, Ross Mirkarimi and Gerardo Sandoval.
In my opinion no matter what side you are on pass throughs this legislation presented by the PUC was badly written and should be voted down. Remember this vote . This vote will be important in the District 8 Supervisor race in two years and the next Mayor's Race .

Other items:

Supervisor Tom Ammiano read a memoriam for his good friend Hank Wilson. He announced Hank's memoriam will be held December 6, 2008 - Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Eureka Valley Recreation Center.

Supervisor Tom Ammiano announced the winner of the I.D. Card Design which was designed by a student. A proclamation was given out to the winner and runner ups.

Supervisor Tom Ammiano gave a proclamation to Toye Moses for his years of hard work on the San Francisco Mental Health Board.

Michela Alioto-Pier gave a proclamation to Starbucks for helping the community on Election Day by giving out free coffee to every one who proved they voted .

John Hanley, head of the Executive Board of the San Francisco Firefighters Local 798 said very kind words and gave San Francisco Fire Fighters Axes (which were beautifully framed) to Supervisors Tom Ammiano, Aaron Peskin, Gerardo Sandoval and Jake McGoldrick for their hard work as supervisors.
