CAAGE 2009 Lunar New Year Luncheon - Moo!!!!

Attended the CAAGE 2009 Lunar New Year Luncheon held at the Empress of China Restaurant in Chinatown last Friday.

Large crowd of City employees enjoying a New Year celebration. Rose Chung was Mistress of Ceremonies. Big banquet, large crowd with plenty of elected officials paying their respects including Supervisor David Chiu, Police Chief Heather Fong, State Senator Leland Yee, Supervisor Eric Mar, Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White and Treasurer Jose Cisneros.

The best part, and the funniest event I have ever seen at a political event - they had a "Moo contest". I know it is the Year of the Ox (symbolizes prosperity through fortitude and hard work), but for fun they had employees from the different city departments come up to the mike and Moo - and the person who Mooed the best - won a prize. (You had to be there to hear how funny they looked and sounded) - there was the rapper moo, the boy/girl moo that got a little racy, in fact some of the sounds were absolutely disgusting (and so funny!). It was nice to see this big room full of happy people. As someone poignantly said "give ourselves a hand for still having a job".

Committee Members: Don Chan, Gloria Chan, Jason Chan, Jack Chin, Rose Chung, Bayard Fong, Willie Fong, Frances Hsieh,Tyrone Jue, Helen Low, Rita Mah, Jaynry Mak, Katy Tang, Francis Tsang, Art Wong, Clifton P. Wong, Winnie Xie.
