Thursday night went to Excelsior Action Group (EAG) District 11 Supervisor Candidates Forum held at the Mission YMCA on Mission Street.
The facility is cheerful and inviting and the meeting was held in front of a wall to wall mirror which took some time getting use to (you could see yourself and the candidates at the same time!) .
Candidates included John Avalos, Adrian Bermudez, Mary Goodnature, Eli Horn, Randall Knox, Julio Ramos and Ahsha Safai. There was one write in candidate - Adri Jackson Matteson.
Candidate Myrna Lim did not show up.
Questions came from residents at the recently held Excelsior Festival:
- How will you make the community stronger, safer and more vibrant?
- How will you you support small business development?
- How will you address economic and community development issues such as public safety, blight, job creation, housing, transportation and capital investment in the community?
All the candidates basically answered the same way, work with the community, organize and let City Hall know we mean business and demand services.
